But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:5-6 (ESV)

“It is finished.”
In the ninth hour of the day Jesus declares, “It is finished.” His work on our behalf is complete. The earth breaks open and the Temple curtain is torn. We now have access to the Father and our forgiveness is complete for those who trust in the completed work of Jesus.
-
It was this hour that we see the sky darken on Friday. It is around this time we hear Jesus cry out to the Father. It is now our hope is even closer.
-
It was this hour that Jesus was crucified. It is now a beautiful day for us. But on that day it was heartbreaking and terrifying. Let us remember the fullness of what Christ went thru for us.

USPS Shipping is a party. I expected a package for arrival this past Friday. It started out in Florida. Made two stops in central Alabama where I live. On Wednesday. Headed to northern Alabama. Then to Indiana. On Friday. But no worries it is now “Out for Delivery” … in central Alabama. Why not.

Quick update: the Eagles. Apparently I’m rooting for the Eagles.
-
I don’t necessarily have any fan affection for either team in the Super Bowl tonight. While watching the first three-peat for the would be cool, the Eagles have seven former Alabama players. Guess I’ll find out who I’m rooting for when my brain starts cheering one team and against the otheer.

One Year
Today has to be the most unexpected anniversary I never thought I’d celebrate.
We are still unsure of what the future looks like for Maggie.
I don’t understand the Lord’s grace. But I am thankful.
-
Funny story. Apparently mine and Seth’s tickets to Star Wars in Concert were for tonight and not last night when we initially tried to attend. Not awkwardrd at all.

Other than the distinct bittersweet reason, I am coming to enjoy my shifts in Rochester. I think seeing the support I receive in addition to the care and affection my daughter receives is something that just can’t be understood until you’re in it. And what a testament to the goodness of the Lord.
-
Getting settled in for my current stint in Rochester. Good travels all around. Ready to see what the coming days will bring.
-
Christmas is coming down. Plans for 2024 are getting laid out. Transition can be uneasy, but transition can also be invaluable. Excited about what 2024 is bringing.

Winter Vacation 2023 Day One. My 70+ year old mom rides Tube World in Maggie Valley. What is happening?

The College Student is home. I didn’t realize how excited I would be. I’ve been so excited for them on this journey. Bittersweet to be sure. But excited nonetheless. But having them home. Saw The Marvels today. Dinner tonight. Just amazing. My heart is full.

Came to the end of a really busy season. It was amazing. And I loved (most) every minute of it. But I had no idea how much I was feeling it until it wass all wrapped up.
-
I was legit excited when I saw the Sweet Setup/Shawn Blanc/Focus Course Clear Action 2024 Planner drop. I don’t know if that makes me old or a responsible adult. Either way I’m here for it. thesweetsetup.com/the-2024-…

Today wrapped up my stewardship of a discipleship weekend that left me both humbled and in awe. It was one of the greatest honors of my life.
“May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering.”

It’s been a minute. But I’m back where I belong professionally mastering the scrums. I’m with the same company, but a different effort within it. Feels like coming home.

John Wick: Chapter 4 was incredible. After finishing the first movie you knew there was more than meets the eye. Even with that I don’t know that I expected us to get to Chapter 4, let alone it being part of this massive of a world. But wow am I sure glad that we did.

This time next week we will have stepped away from our faith family of close to 13 years. It is equal parts uncertainty and anticipation. We are in an overall significant season of change. But I truly believe there is good on the other side of it all.
-
(It feels like) the Middle One’s soccer season officially starts tomorrow as we will rise (too) early for a tournament. He played Wednesday, but waking up with the sun tomorrow somehow gets the win in terms of reality check.
-
Surprisingly strong start to the week. Even made it into my stretch tasks for the day. But it’s a short week so maintaining will be key.
-
Finally caught up on a project I was too far behind on. Still a long way to go, but it is back on track. Win.

Had the opportunity to see the Hamilton Tour this evening with my whole family. Incredible show. Had only ever half-watched it on “the Plus” once. So glad I was able to see it live. And to hear my kids singing along was it’s own plus.
